Triple winners in 2017: Rich Hinton receives the prize for Environmental Acoustics, Weigang Wei for Smaller Projects, and Beth Paxton for her IOA Diploma project

Awards and award-winning buildings

As well as regularly working on buildings that win awards in many different categories, we also regularly win awards specifically for our work. The Association of Noise Consultants’ Awards (the acoustic design Oscars!) has become established as an annual event in which Apex has featured highly.  Apex is the only company to have been short-listed in these awards every year since they began.  The ANC Awards were established in 2013 as an opportunity for members to showcase their work and seek recognition from their peers. Apex has built on its success, after being “Highly Commended” in the Architectural Acoustics category in 2013, Apex won the Sound Insulation Award in 2014, and in 2015 was awarded the Architectural Acoustics award against strong competition from Arup and Cundall.  In 2016 Apex received “Highly Commended” for the sound insulation design of the Vermont ApartHotel.  In 2017 Apex won both the Environmental Acoustics Award for Good Acoustic Design at United House, Swanley, Kent, and the Smaller Projects Award for the TupTup Palace, Newcastle upon Tyne.  Read more about these projects below.
